Hi all,

Now that you saw what my exhibition layout turned out to be I will plan a home layout in my garage. It will be build in a new room I build in the garage to keep that room comfortabel.

Size of the room will be 7,5 by 1,7 meters, 2,1 meters high. Subject off course Southern Pacific in H0, timeframe 1980 to 2000 so that it will behold older SP equipment and also some UP stuff.

More to come, I'm now in the planning phase. Stay tuned!!

At this point (July 2020) the layout may be exposed 1 or 2 times, plans are to incorporate it into a home layout. For such a layout I have to adapt my current garage.

So, keep posted! In a short while I will start construction of it!

Hi all,

Long time no hear. After the last post in 2016 the layout is finished and exposed in a few countries and at some shows. One of them was September 2019 in Hochdorf Switzerland. We drove with a van to the exhibition:

Painting the background and light carriers

Modules are sanded and ready for painting:

The blue I use:

Rolling it on the background, first wet layer:

After second coat it still has too much "shine":

Today I matted the background with Motip matt clear coat. First layer on and drying:

I think this is a huge improvement, now it has to dry and see if it needs eventually a second coat. Maybe I do that after I will make a nice background and coat that in matt.

Staining some wood

Stained both types of ties in thinned brown colour:

This afternoon I compared the colours in the light. I am satisfied with the brownish look of the ties:

And made a base for the assembly of the trestle legs:

Made the strips for my LED lighting today. Used a table circular saw:
